Why we are vegetarian

There are  many reasons for being vegetarian, including the proven health benefit of a vegetarian diet, but the most compeling reasons are ethical.
Just think about this: 1 acre of land can yield 165 lbs of beef or 20,000 lbs of potatoes.
Over a third of the grain worlwide is fed to animals. If we stopped feeding grain to animal, the current food crisis would be solved overnight.
With the current food crisis threatening millions of people with starvation, with the rain forest being cleared to make grazing land for cattle, or to grow (GM) soya beans to feed European cattle,  a meat eating diet is both unsustainable and unethical.
